New Alphanumeric Sender ID for SMS text messaging

Blackline Safety is making changes to alert notifications that use Short Message Service (SMS) text messaging.

To prevent unwanted and fraudulent messaging (spam), many countries no longer allow SMS messages composed with a sender ID of only a phone number. Instead, telecommunications carriers for these countries require an alphanumeric name for the sender ID.

To avoid message blocking by carriers with these policies, Blackline Safety is adding the alphanumeric name Blackline to our sender profile.

The change to our sender ID will occur on March 14, 2022.

NOTE: Many customers have already whitelisted our Blackline Safety phone numbers to avoid having them blocked. Please be vigilant with your SMS messages after March 14th and check that messages from Blackline are not blocked.

If you have any questions, please contact Blackline Safety Customer Care.
