What’s New in the October 2024 G6 Update

The October 2024 G6 update will be available on October 1, 2024. The update includes:
- Global firmware version 1.6
- Improved firmware installation
- A new Settings menu
- Custom time zone support
- Carrier network enhancement
- Device improvements
Improved FIRMWARE INSTALLATION
The October 2024 update includes an improvement to the firmware installation process. When a new version of firmware is available, G6 automatically downloads it during the device’s regular daily scheduled synchronization. During the process, the firmware update screen will display for an additional three seconds to provide you with more information about the new firmware.
NEW SETTINGS MENU
The October 2024 update includes a new Settings menu that allows you to access device information and overwrite configuration profile defaults, such as the language or time zone. You can access the Settings menu through the Global navigation menu.
The following two menus that were previously in the Device settings menu have been moved to the Settings menu:
- Languages
- Advanced info
The following menu options are available through the Advanced info menu:
- Gas info
- Device info
- Communication
- GPS location info

CUSTOM TIME ZONE SUPPORT
The October 2024 update also includes a new Time menu, which allows you to view and update your device’s time setting. You can access the Time menu through the Settings menu.
You can use the Time menu to set a custom time offset and manually enter a time zone. For full instructions, refer to the G6 Technical User Manual.
CARRIER NETWORK ENHANCEMENT
The October 2024 update includes enhancements to our carrier network support, increasing our number of carriers available and providing better connectivity for G6 devices internationally.
DEVICE IMPROVEMENTS
The October 2024 update includes changes to GPS acquisition, Bluetooth search and cellular modem enhancements that will help increase your G6’s battery life.
